Here is the provisional draw for tomorrow's first round of the Lanark Open.

1. Jim Doyle v Steven McHarg
2. John Tonkin v Richard Wiltshire
3. Paul MacDonald v George Brown
4. David Congalton v Andrew McHarg
5. Jim Smalls v Alexander Bond
6. Bill Perrie v Ian McLachlan
7. Ian Brownlee v Bernard Airlie
8. Dave Stephens v Frankie Murray
9. Anthony Burns v James Drummond
10. Bill Strachan v John Nicol

Bye: Chris Perkin, Hamish Glen

Please ignore the draw above, a requirement for another player to take a bye means the pairings need to be redone. If the arbiter is able to do that in the next little while I'll post again.

A bit late in the day I'm afraid, but draw is as above except on board 1 where Bill Perrie will play Steven McHarg.

How strange --- not a draw in sight.

Will it last?

The results of the second round games are now on the Lanark club website - www.LanarkchessClub.org.uk

En passant, I’d like to thank David and Arthur Mulholland (DM Web Solutions Ltd) of Hamilton Chess Club, who very kindly came to our aid when we had a problem with our website. Without their help we would not have an up and running site on which to post news from our tournament.

Ian, you might want to switch to the new board.
