Folks,

This is a note to invite interested parties to a Chess "MasterClass" with GM Stuart Conquest in East Kilbride on Saturday 2nd October from 12PM - 4PM. Stuart was British Chess Champion in 2008 and he has been a frequent member of the England team at the Olympiads and European Team Championships.

The event will be held in the Gleneagles Suite of the National Engineering Laboratory (NEL) in EK (about a mile from the Murray Owen Centre where the club normally meets). Directions are;

Scottish Enterprise Technology Park, Rankine Ave, East Kilbride, Glasgow, Lanarkshire G750QF

The event has been organised by East Kilbride Chess Club and we currently have a limited number of places at the session we wish to offer to the wider Chess Scotland community.

The price of the event will be £20 per adult and £10 per junior.

Likely format of the session will be;
1200 - 1330hrs Masterclass part 1
1330 - 1400hrs Break
1400 - 1530hrs Masterclass part 2
1530 - 1600hrs Q&A's & close.

Likely topics covered will be " Tools/Techniques to help club players improve on tactical awareness/ calculation / strategy / what to look for in certain stages of the game positional advantages / weaknesses etc"

Entries will be on a first come first served basis and people interested in attending should contact;
Paul Denham, Club Secretary, East Kilbride Chess Club on 01355 238250 (before 7:30PM) or paulj.denham@tiscali.co.uk.

Should be a great afternoon, so contact me ASAP to secure your place at this masterclass alongside some of the EK regulars.

Shame it's on at the same time as the Lothians Allegro.

I'm sure there are some people who would have liked to attend both events.
