Many thanks to Hugh Flockhart of Edinburgh who is stepping down as organiser of the CS Grand Prix. Hugh started the adult Grand Prix a decade ago which has been a great addition to the tournament circuit.
CS is looking for someone to take over the role. The ideal person would be fairly active on the tournament circuit and familiar with the rules of the Grand Prix. I can assist with rule clarifications if required. http://www.chessscotland.com/csinfo/gpintro.htm
The job description would be:
1) Issue guidance and updates on the rules of the Grand Prix.
2) Notify the winners in the adult sections by email or post.
3) Accept postal receipt of all the prizes sent by the sponsors - in the adult and junior GP.
4) Request CS Treasurer supplies cheques for the money prizes to winners.
5) Arrange for the distribution and presentation of the Grand Prix main prizes. (Send minor prizes by post) Recently prizes have been distributed at the Grangemouth Congress.
Note: the invigilator cannot win any prizes. The Junior Home director is responsible for the Junior Grand Prix rules. |
