The events listed below are 'open' events and all Scottish players are welcome to enter:

1) Secondary Individual Chess Tournament
Venue: Wester Hailes Education Centre, 5 Murrayburn Drive, Edinburgh, EH14 2SU
Date: Sunday 2nd November 2008.
This event is open to all secondary chess players in Scotland
Organiser - Mike Scott (email: mike@neuroscot.co.uk)
Entry via Lothian Junior Chess website preferred (www.lothianschoolchess.org.uk)

2) Wester Hailes Junior Congress 2009
Venue: Wester Hailes Education Centre, 5 Murrayburn Drive, Edinburgh, EH14 2SU
Date: Sunday 30th November 2008.
This event is open to all chess players in Scotland. There will be various sections: Premier (for Secondary & P6/7 players with a chess grade > 500), ‘Stars Barred’ (for ungraded Secondary & P6/7 players or a chess grade < 500) and 'P5 and Under'.
