Any interest so far?
Were all the nominated places taken last year?
How are the nominated places decided? |

Perhaps two of the qualifying places should be given to Congresses. For example if the Edinburgh Congress advertised a British Championship Qualifying place to the highest unqualified player it may encourage a few more entries from south of the border. There are certainly som people who enter an event in the hope of getting a BCQ from it.
This approach has the risk of the places not going to Scots, but since they seem to be unwanted anyway perhaps we should be allowing congresses to get a few more entry fees.
Of course with the 2012 event being held just outside Whitley Bay there may be more demand from players to take part. |
