I take it this is the 'Scotsman' shield - in which case James Gillespies High has it. |

So far we have 2 confirmed responses for the trophies above. One I am collecting so it can be awarded at the Scottish this year.
Come on people, this is our heritage here. I don't care if you contact me in private or publically on the noticeboard. Someone knows the whereabouts. Let us know where they are.
We would love to do a display page of the trophies with current holders, it would look very good on the website. Please help us in finding them |

I have no idea where the Ladies' trophy might be. If I remember rightly, it was awarded within the Major Open event (or whatever its official name is) in years after Alison and I were joint winners. But not to me! |

If you could pass it on to Alex, Donald or myself I'd be greatful. |

Grateful thanks to Christine MacGregor for getting in contact with details of the PBA Anderson Trophy
"The PBA Anderson trophy is awarded to the winner of the Glasgow Schools Secondary Chess League and the tournament for this trophy is a knock-out format with an age handicap. (I took over organising the league 3 years ago when Caroline McClure retired). The trophy has just been won again this session 2010 by St Aloysius." |

I had it for a while in 1991, when I won the Girls' event (or rather, finished top girl in whatever section I was in at the Scottish). The girls' trophy hadn't reappeared, so I was awarded with the Ladies' one instead. (It's the one with the elephant on the top, right?) I gave the ladies trophy back after that.
The girls' trophy also reappeared and I had that a couple of times too (always giving it back). _________________ "Heather's clever book". As plugged* by the Rampant Chess Team. |

Robertson Cup
If you mean the Robertson Challenge Cup presented to the Scottish Ladies Chess Association (1907) then I've got it.
It was last played in 2000 & the Kestrels (Carrick c c) won it. _________________ ''All murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.'' Voltaire |

I see there is a "Bearsden Trophy" in the list. I've been a member of Bearsden CC for 30 years but don't recall it. Can anyone supply some details so I can ask about it |

Bearsden Trophy: I think this was the first version of the Seniors trophy, so named, I think, because it was first awarded when the Scottish Congress was held at Bearsden (1973).
Spens Quaich (AWIC question from 2010): There never was such a trophy. It was the name given to the consolation event for the Spens before the Jack Campbell Rosebowl was presented. |

Don't get me started on this, or I'll have a real rant.
A few year's back we spent £100 on a new club champion's trophy (to replace an earlier one that someone couldn't be bothered returning). (Money, I should add, that came out of our lottery fund award and/or sponsorship, which I had invested a great deal of time and effort obtaining).
Despite numerous requests, the trophy has not been returned. |
