Webmasters/Techy Types,
Logged on this morning to check out some stats on my next opponent and it seems the search function for an opponents (or mine for that matter) is not working.

Useful information:

etc...
Thanks

Tried this morning at home on Firefox
Tried on works laptop on Internet Explorer
What happens is I log in my PNUM and password and it gives me the default sample page with GM Rowson's data and picture greyed out and the "become a member now" text at the top.
I am guessing it may be something to do with whether or not considers me a member of CS, which it did for a few weeks there after paying my membership via paypal.
Cheers

I understand now and will investigate later today.
The system is built around allowing anyone who wants to login to do so but only allowing members to see the grading information after they have logged in. It's done this way to give greater scope for future non-member facilities, such as an integrated forum for example, where non members would be able to post but would require to be logged in to do so.
I have recently released a 'behind-the-scenes' program which automatically adjusts membership access depending on membership status in the live grading database. It's possible that there is a bug with it which is something that will require investigation.
I'll get back to you this evening and if the program does contain a bug then I'll manually adjust the access levels until I fix it. It was tested but a 'live' environment is not always as easy to predict as a test one. :S

Could I please suggest for any member having difficulty accessing the membership area of the website that a good first step is to check with the Membership Secretary whether or not their membership is up to date. An good reference point is http://www.chessscotland.com/membership/membershipdataforweb.htm
I hope this helps. |
