Date/Time: 8th-9th January 2011

Rounds: 5 rounds, 3 Sat, 2 Sun - Prizegiving will follow the completion of the final round.

Byes are available in all rounds except round 5.

Events: I have decided to crop the number of events this time to the more conventional format of Championship (Open), Challenger, Major and Minor. This will make for an increase in grading differences in the various sections and to compensate I have replaced third-place prizes with large grading prizes.

Time Controls: 30 moves in 1 hr + 15 min.

Entry Fees: Unfortunately our venue have doubled their price for hosting the tournament and despite our best efforts we have been unable to negotiate that down. As a result we have had no choice but to increase the entry fee by about £2. This should help cover the difference and I ask for your understanding and support in the matter.

Titled ( GM, IM & FM ) - FREE
Juniors ( Under 18 ) - £17
Adults - £22

Chess Scotland members may deduct £2. Senior citizens and the unemployed may deduct £1.

Lunch: Due to limitations at the venue we will probably have to reduce the stated lunch duration on the Sunday to half an hour instead of an hour. This is to guarantee time to distribute prizes as we have been asked to be out of the rooms by 16:30 on the Sunday. I will remind all of this at the tournament.

Entries should be received by Wednesday 5th January 2011. For entries after this date a late entry fee of £2 will be levied.
