|
Hi,
I've not played competitvely for a while but I was looking in the calendar for an allegro to perhaps get back into the swing of things as I often don't have time to commit to a whole weekend. I can't see any advertised, I know there is Stewarton in June but is there anything before that?
Cheers, L |

Hi Lynsey,
You couldn't have timed your query much better.
East Kilbride Chess Club are going to hold an evening allegro on 11th March 2010. It will be a 5 round event with games at 15 mins per player. It will be a Grand Prix event. It will start around 1915hrs.
It will be open to EK club members and all other players alike.
Something should be appearing on the Calendar soon (Admin was confirming some of the details with me last night at our club) and an entry form should follow on in the next couple of weeks.
Beyond that I know that Polytechnic usually hold an evening Allegro in April and in early May there is usually, the Eastwood Allegro held at the Clarkston Halls and run by Giffnock & Clarkston Chess Club. Both of these events have had decent entries in recent years.
Not sure what is planned elsewhere or over a full day (e.g. 30mins per player per game)
Best Wishes
