Borders books and various other Scottish "events" websites still apparently announce that I am to sign copies of my recent book, "Chess for Rookies", at the Borders Fort Kinnaird, Edinburgh store, on Saturday, 12 December from 2pm.

Sadly, Borders' even more recent move into administration means that this cannot now go ahead. So, if anyone had planned to go to this, please take note of the cancellation.

I believe that Borders (Fort Kinnaird) may nevertheless have received copies of "Chess for Rookies" for the event and that these may now be on the reference shelves at deep discount, as part of Borders' 100% closing-down sales drive in the next week or two. I do not and cannot give any guarantees about this information ... so I'd say that anyone looking for a bargain, should probably first phone the store to confirm availability and price!

Hi Craig.

I was there yesterday to get high quality batteries for my camera.
they usually retail at 8.95 for 4 I picked up 16 for approx £8.00.

Saw 12 copies of Chess for Rookies one Zebras and
one book by Gary Lane. all at 40% off - this % may go higher
as the last week goes on.
