Hi,

I thought it was impossible to lose grading points for getting 100% in a tournament? --- I was playing in a School's tournament at the week-end, scored 5/5 and my provisional Allegro was 1606 (due to the fact that I'd hit the 200^ rule at Regular), once the tournament grading data went up, I went down to 1436 because the opponents I played were miles lower than my provisional rating --- anyone know why this happened? A similar thing happened to my team-mate, Clement Sreeves.

Daniel

FYI GreenVeganRhino, I don't really care about the grade... I'm just interested to know why I lost so many points? If my grade is 200 or 2000 it doesn't bother me --- just interested in the rules, that's all. Very Happy

Green Vegan Rhino, we don't mind playing these lower graded players. Its just that losing 100s of points is slightly unfair. This is different from people who lose grading points for slipping up against lower rated players.

GreenVeganRhino, I thought this was called "ASK THE GRADER"... not "Ask the lunatic;)". You're making rash statements, as Clement pointed out... we don't care playing beginners, I actually quite enjoy an "easy" game now and again, I just can't see why we should lose 100s of points for doing so. I was just wondering why you can lose 100s of points for 100%.

I agree, this is a problem. However it can work for you lose to someone much higher than you. But to represent your school and lose 200-300 grading pts for gaining 100% is ridicolous.

Ah,

Dougie told me there was a problem with the grading list. Please delete this topic, Andy.
