Yes the thomas-howie team seems to have the edge! Great stuff.

Round 1 games are up - see Ian Mac and Jonny finishes to see that high graded players miss tactics. At least at that level players resign and retreat to the bar Laughing

Good to see games from all the sections,

I had to laugh at one of the comments complaining because they do not have live games for this....

Whilst we are waiting for R2 to come up, The Faber team are 1.5 points ahead of 2nd place, England. The U12 are 0.5 points ahead.

England beating Wales 5-0 worries me in the Glorney

To be honest I would be far more concerned were it his little brother - who was caught draining wine glasses at a millenium party aged 2!

hick!

Great result for the Faber team! Suprising that the U12 top 3 missed out - I am sure they can get revenge in the return.

Obviously Scotland has the most talented girls in the UK. Cool

We also have some very talented boys too, and considering how much bigger England is, they have not dominated us as they would have liked. I know that the tournament isn't over, but the results so far do not surprise me. Having seen some of these juniors play, it was obvious that they would perform well.

Role on the next few rounds... C'mon Scotland! =)

... of those playing in the Faber. (England don't usually send their World/Euro picks.)

With both teams at full strength, a Scotland - Cowley Chess Club GU18 match would be difficult to call (I'd actually call it in favour of Cowley if played over 4 or 5 boards):

If such a match did take place, I would probably have to abstain if asked who I was supporting. Smile

Yes - nice one! It's game points this year, so that must put the girls way out in front.
