Work has now begun on the congress website. I'm using a free website builder, so we'll see how that goes and how user friendly and useful it is for the novice web builder and please ignore the ads at the top telling you a woman earns £77 an hour working from home or has lost six pounds in six minutes, I've no control over them unless I upgrade to a chargeable account.

Major congress updates will continue to be posted on the Chess Scotland Notice Board but I'm hoping the website will add something extra.

Details of entry fees, playing times, sections, prize money and more have been uploaded. The web address is

A new ad-free website is now in place at www.ayrshirechesscongress.co.uk . Entry forms are now available on the website and on the Chess Scotland Calendar.
