Unfirtunately there seems to be a lack of girls taking part in this event - come on it s a National Final

Saturday 24th April St Margarets Church Hall, Airdrie, 10.30am start

3 sections
Secondary
Primary 6/7
Primary P5 & under

entries to sjc@uwclub.net or phone 01698850303

For those with brothers dont worry because they can go to the training day in the same building (also enter via details above) or challenge me to a 5 minute blitz game for the sponsored event.

You can see by the entry form that there is not a 'team' event. No point in putting extra pressure on the girls by putting them in a random team & giving them the 'team' pressure when they should be concentrating on doing their best in this National final as an individual.

Before you answer that there wouldnt be random teams I can assure you apart from one Edinburgh club there would be - I have the entries so far.

As for prizes - there are top notch trophies & additional prizes will be dependent on entry but will be chess related goods ie: chess books.

Please check your email I have sent a message as I was informed last night that there are annual trophies for this event. I am surprised you didn't inform me of their existence, especially as we ran this event last year too!!

Nice pictures!

What were the results?

Looks like Helen & Leora did well - how well?

Did Helen retain her title?

Do I recognise Julia?
