Hi All,
In my first job as president of Giffnock chess club
It is too late to cancel at this short notice. The event will run this way.
The let is free.
Giffnock club will break even
Any one who turns up gets an evening of competitive chess graded on the allegro list.
Games start at 7-00 p.m.
Entries accepted up to that time without late entry fee.
Sections will be decided a few minutes before 7-00 p.m. likely to be two sections as advertised.
Entry fees will be as advertised adult £6, juniors £3.50

| Phil - it may be your first job at Giffnock but I hope it's not your last. I am full of admiration for your determination to go ahead in difficult circumstances. Had I not already made a 150-mile round trip to a one-day chess event on Saturday I would have decided there and then to make the effort (not inconsiderable in my case, staying where I do) to attend and support your venture...but I'm afraid it's a bit much for me right now. Best wishes nevertheless and I hope for your sake the event is a success. |

| Thanks Copacablanca. We had 45 entries in total last night. I'll leave it to others to decide how well it ran. |
