UK Chess Challenge had 67000 entries from 2005 schools last year & Scotland managed to send a good few down to the Gigafinals.

Mike Basman has agreed with me that any school or club in Scotland that enters before the end of this month will not have to pay the late entry fee but you cannot enter online as the system automatically adds on the additional charge. So print off the form & send in your entries now for the first stages of the event which is great fun for everyone who takes part as everyone wins a prize from the entry kit you receive along with full intructions of what to do. Open to all schools & clubs.

The 2nd stage are the Megafinals - the top qualifiers from the 1st stage have the option of entering their nearest Megafinal (entry forms are given to the children to give the parents the option of entering or not although some school do pay the entry). We hope to have Megafinals in Aberdeen, Edinburgh & Glasgow in the Spring. IF you need more information either go to the UK Chess Challenge website or ring me on 0141 6391011
