What about 22.Nxa7 Bxg2 (else Nb5 is good for MM) Nxc8 Nxf1 all very unclear (to me) but surely White can't be worse?
These hanging pawns positions are tricky - if White can get in d5 and open up for the bishops he could end up better. They've both only got 30 mins left so anything can happen in the next hour!!

Yes Nxa7 looked good, not sure why Mitchell avoided it.

I think black has missed his chance by not playing the obvious 20..Rec7,

Looks finely balanced now, good finish ahead if black wants to win will have to take some risks.

33.Re5 didn't look right. Not sure if Black could do anythnig if say 33.h3 sit and wait..
Looks like a bit of a struggle now - although with opposite coloured bishops - can it be held if the big pieces all come off?
