A reminder that the Team Lightning takes place at Grangemouth on Sunday 6 December – one week earlier than usual which we hope will help entries. Full details on the website calendar.
Best method of entry is by email to me; entry fees will be collected on the day.

Hi Ken,
We are struggling to get a pool of 4 players from EK.
Quite a lot of people cannot make it that weekend due to other commitments, junior events etc
Standng at 2 so far. Will let you know if we manage to get 4 players.
Hope the tournament is a success.

Entries are a bit slow but we should still have a good event.
I can take entries up until Saturday late afternoon.

I don't want to steal Ken's thunder, but I'm sure the entire nation is agog with anticipation waiting for the results:
1. Hamilton A (Mannion , Redpath, Coffey, Muir) 35
2. Dundee & Victoria (McNab, Chaski, Findlay, Spencer) 32
3. Shettleston (Bryson, Gillies, Doyle, Gallagher) 29.5
4. Edinburgh West 25.5
5. Grangemouth A 21.5
6. Hamilton B 17
7. Castlehill 16.5
8. Hamilton C 15
9. Wandering Dragons 13
10. Stirling 9.5
11. Grangemouth B 5.5
I think Ken will have some individual scores for the medal winners.
Thanks to Ken and Donald for organising and officiating. It was fun - shame there weren't more entries |

Numbers are disappointing. The same number of teams entered as the Richardson eg 11. We will not get the 20-40 teams we had in the immediate post Fischer era.
However we are getting good number of GMs and IMs playing so should just continue current format with high quality not quantity.
If Carlsen does something may go up to 20-40 again. |

Good to see Shettleston back. Would have been even better to see Steve Mannion playing for Cathcart and not Hamilton. Times must be tough indeed when even Hamilton can't find 4 loyal club members to field in their A team at such events
