A good effort by all so far against tough competition, Ali in particular. Keep it going!

Just a note to say that there'll be some British interest on the live boards tomorrow - Anna Wang in the Girls' U10. _________________ "Heather's clever book". As plugged* by the Rampant Chess Team. |

It was a day for girl power as both Ali and Maryann won but none of the boys did. Kai and Ben agreed draws from superior positions. 3 rounds to go.....! |

Anyone looking for live entertainment can head towards Anna Wang's game in the Girls' U10 again. She's currently a pawn up against the only player on 100% in the tournament and trying to work out how to get her bishops going. _________________ "Heather's clever book". Everyone is feeling a bit tired now except for Daniel and Andrew who are just warming up! Just one last final effort required for the last round, which starts at 10am tomorrow.
Looking forward to coming home to have some food that isn't chicken and chips, and to escape the weather which is consistently 20ish C during the day. Oh, and it never rains. *sigh* |

That's the tournament finished now with Ali, Maryann, and Ian finishing with wins.
Final Standings:
Ali Roy 6.5/11
Ian McDonald 5/11
Daniel Maxwell 4.5/11
Kai Pannwitz 4.5/11
Ben He 4/11
Andrew Newton 3.5/11
Maryann McDonald 3.5/11
Connor Woods 3.5/11
Some reasons to be happy and some not, but i believe everyone here has taken something valuable from the event and will become stronger as a result. |
