Typical.

These poeple are all old. Can we not attract any juniors to
take part in this event.

Yet another example of short sightness by CS.

Hi Phil

Quote: "they are all former juniors ."

Even more reason not to send them.
Why should they be allowed to hog all the seats in the team.

A bit of make-up, a false moustache here and there, add a smell
of stale biscuits and deep heat and we could send the junior squad in their place.

Has anybody thought of this?

No.

Why not?

European Senior Team Championship 2010 Dresden,Germany (10th-18th February 2010)
I've talked to quite a few people about it & some expressed interest, but hadn't heard about it!
Its for >50s for women & >60 for men!
We only need 2 more for the 2nd team, but could get 3 teams if everyone knew about it who could & would want to go Smile

I wonder why women are senior at 50 but men are not until 60? I guess this is just another example of one of these positive descrimination things providing unfair advantages to women in chess depite fact that women are generally weaker at chess than men?

Could it be because women are more inclined to lie about their age.... (heading for the hills already).

Now that is good to see, one of the nicest gentleman and probably one of the most underrated players in Scotland added to the pool. Oh and by the way Jim I am not just saying that because I might have to play you on Tuesday!

there is nothing general about it: if millions of men play & hundreds of women, then of course you'll see a lot more men being strong players!
Last time i was there i was pleased to see a german team of women only ! Apart from that most women haven't discovered that they can play at a much younger age then men & unfortunately have not taken advantage of this. Crying or Very sad
