The Team Finals were held in Grangemouth this afternoon, and it's congratulations to Polytechnic (4½ - 3½ winners v Edinburgh) in the Richardson, Castlehill (4½ - 1½ v Edinburgh Civil Service) in the Spens, and Kilmarnock (4½ - 1½ v Hamilton B) in the Campbell Rosebowl.

My thanks to all the players for their sportsmanship and for giving me one of the easiest afternoons I've ever had as an arbiter.

For the first time, the final of the MacIsaac Tournament was held alongside the team finals. Unfortunately, Alistair Maxwell (Cathcart) and Phil Thomas (East Kilbride) will have to try again at another venue, as their match today ended in a draw. Maybe that's just as well, since the trophy was not on hand to be presented.
