How much notice have National chess bodies had of these proposals from the ECU, President Mr. Danailov?

http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=7109

If there has been notice, how come the first news of these moves come via Chessbase?

I found out about it through Ali. He was quick off the mark to let us all know about it.

Needless to say we are voting against the proposals as control should be with council and not the board

I take it then that we are voting by proxy. Are we sure that the ECU will be more democratic than FIDE?

They can't copyright a chess game, international copyright laws will not support it. It's like trying to copyright letters of the alphabet.

Last time I checked (and certainly from the minutes I have been sent), the proposals were not passed.

The ones on delegation to the board were soundly thrashed

Several were withdrawn and 3 have been sent to committee for revision to be presented at Crete
