It's time for a reminder that the Team Lightning will be held on Sunday 5 December at Grangemouth starting 2pm (till about 5.30). Full details are under Calendar on the website. Remember to bring clocks (sets/boards are supplied).
Simplest way to enter is to email me giving number of teams and estimates of their average grade.

Hi Ken,
given the current weather and forecasts for Sunday is there thought of postponing this event?

Yes, we are considering this. There will be a definite decision later today or tomorrow morning. I'll email those who have sent entries plus put something on website.

If it is cancelled hopefully it can be re-organised for sometime next year, it is one of the most enjoyable events of the year Razz

Edinburgh West has a team (although I haven't entered it yet as I don't have final confirmation of names). However, the weather needs to improve.

I would favour postponing and rearranging. Although playing by telephone is always a laugh Twisted Evil

We have now definitely cancelled the event. It seems uncertain that the venue will be open, the weather remains very doubtful and there seems - understandably in the conditions - little interest (only 4 entries so far).

We shall look at the possibility of holding the event post-winter.

2.5 feet of snow in places in Grangemouth/Falkirk/Polmont Area.
Trains were struggling.
For 90 mins in work at Grangemouth getting files and paperwork to keep working from home it took me 7 hours as a round trip.
People were having to walk down the roads and squeeze in as cars came past, the pavements were so bad.
