After 5 uncontested years in the post, I have decided not to seek re-election for the schools chess develoment post at the August AGM. I think five years is simply enough for one person to hold this position and it's time to pass the reins. I will be happy to speak informally to anyone who may wish to put their name forward to fill the position and provide support in any transition.

Thanks to everyone over the years who has helped me drive forward such diverse initiatives as the chess in schools project in N Ayrshire, various events in the Scottish Parliament and Dinosaur Chess. I will retain an interest in currently ongoing initiatives, but more so from a trustee position in the Scottish Junior Chess Association Educational Trust ... where our main objective is to raise much more money for junior chess!
