...and they never came from the Isle of Lewis
My final word on the matter. (I promise).
Already the emails have started arriving.
A few 'good lucks', one 'well done' some 'iffy' and one nutter.

I'd be interested in comments on here. Infact your opinions
will be the only one's I'd be interested in. |

Have to say you put up a very good argument. I'm convinced. Oh yes.
Did you do all this research yourself? How long did it take you? |

I first saw the pieces in London in 1969. I thought then they
did not look like chess pieces.
Years later I read that other people had their doubts as well.
The minutes of the Society was a lucky find.
I was encouraged to pursue my idea years ago with an email
from the late Ken Whyld. There is absolute no proof they came
from Lewis was the gist of his email.
The rest I put together. - the Edinburgh/London match
and pieces being 'found' at the same time.
The isle of Lewis (aka William Lewis)
I'm finished with that now - my next quest is to find the missing
Staunton/Morphy games. |
