I often have difficulties getting my tournaments advertised, which leads to clashes, cancellations and general annoyance. SO here it is, if your planning a clash or already have a venue sorted for the date of:
SATURDAY 21ST MARCH 2009 could you please let me know. I'd very much like to hold the Law Society Team Championships on this date. I don't want a clash, its rude to our sponsor and theres too few off them to annoy!
I want it to be held in March, the first weekend is SNCL, second will presumably be Glenrothes, the third shall be Blackpool and i'd like to take the day of the 21st. I'd pluck for the 22nd but its mothering Sunday, and mothers do seem to love their chess players.
Is there anyone at all who will clash? This is 9 months warning so speak up now.
Cheers

Good luck for this venture.
Perhaps once a month perhaps add a note saying "see above."
This way the posting will leap to the top of the pile and stay in their memories.
You sound very busy. So I will do a rota.
I do June. (done).
JR you do July,
Cocobananananana, you do August,
Rocky you do Septemeber
Alan Tate your month is Ocotober
Georgias - you do November - and don't forget.
Welfan you do Decemeber (twice).
That should do it. |

Sorry I'm in the Canary Islands in November.
So I'll just do mine now! |

I'm in either Liverpool or Davos in August. And no, I can't swap with Gorgias, because I'll be in Guyana in November.
And by the way, Geoff, it's Cocobananarama - don't you use a spell-checker? |

Hi Lynsey
21st March is my Birthday and as it is followed up with Mother's day i can just about guarantee I will be spending the weekend somewhere with Mam. However, let's just wait and see. I'm going to a new school so I hope to be able to take some of them to your event (and i also aim to let DHS know so that they have the opportunity to come too!!)

JR you were meant to do July.
I had forgotten about this - was looking for something else.
We must keep this post up front so people do not organise anything
on these important date.
JR - you really are hopless. What are we going to do with you? |

Lyndsey
The Richardson / Spens Cup is penciled for this date.
Sorry about that, if you look at an earlier thread with the dates for this competition.
I know how difficult it is to find a decent time to hold a competition these days.
All the Best

Sam
If you're referring to your post on the 15th June then you'll find that you were 13 days later than Lynsey. |

Thanks, Phil - just logged on to the 'interweb thingy' from a land far far away (isn't technolgy wonderful!) but I see you've beaten me to it! 5.44 am! Were you still up at that time waiting to do it?

And just in case anyone has forgotten what all this was about:
