I'll edit this mail as I get more info.

Inn Keepers Lodge (RedDeer)
This hotel in Auchenkilns Park (G68 9AT) is the closest to the venue.
At the moment they have a special room rate of £79.90 (includes breakfast) for
a Fri,Sat&Sun night stay. Even if you are not planning to stay on the Sunday night,
book it since it is part of this special offer; staying only the Fri and Sat nights costs £96!

There is a Travel Lodge in the Town Centre, http://www.premiertravelinn.com/pti/hotelInformation.do?hotelId=23869 and the Castlecary hotel http://www.castlecaryhotel.com/
There is also the Westerwood Hotel but this will not be for the budget conscious http://www.qhotels.co.uk/hotels/the-westerwood-near-glasgow-north-lanarkshire

If you've got a car it's easy to get to the venue from accomodation in surrounding towns and of course Glasgow.

For example Strathclyde University offer Bed and Breakfast and self catering units in their campus village (handily located off Cathedral Street for all the buses to the venue and also a short walk to Queen Street Station). For further info visit http://www.rescat.strath.ac.uk/village_accom.html
