Anyone wanting to see the action from a nice sunny (not) Glasgow, please see either the front page and click on live games.

We currently have the top 12 boards live and are hoping to increase this to 16 as the week goes on.

Chessbase also are picking up the top 6 boards \o/

Not really, just a really bad blunder by white. Markos opening was terrible and he was already clearly worse!

That's what I thought -the finish was nice enough though.
Don't really want to comment on a game still in progress, but little brother has just pointed out an amazing possibility for Rose Giulian against Jonathan Grant back on move 24. Check out the position and see if you can find it!

Yeah! Haven't checked it out fully, but can't really see a defence for black here. If 24...f6 then 25.Qd6 looks massive, and even 25.exf6!? looks possible if you fancy an adventure!

24... Ndb8 looks like the only defence. Then I guess white can play 25.Qd6 when 25...Qd7 looks like the only defence then white can play 26.Qc5 when black is struggling to find a move. There doesn't seem to be any immediate win, but the plan of f4-f5 looks very strong.

I'm a little surprised that there is nothing more immediate than this - moves like 24.Qb4 deserve a stunning finish!

Yeah, but complete positional domination is a good second Razz

White just needs to get the knight into the game and blacks resistance will end.

Good result for Rosie, she always plays much better than her rating.
