Below are the dates & sections for the forthcoming 08-09 Richardson Cup campaign.
The draw was conducted by myself and Douglas Bryson, with the dates
generated by a software programme.

The format is that the winners of each section shall play in the FINAL
of the Richardson Cup, and the two teams at the bottom will be relegated.

The method for resolving ties is as follows:
a)Match points, b)Game points, c)Individual result, d)Board count,
e)Board elimination.

You will of course noticed that the tournament starts early, this was
to accomodate the five rounds needed. I still hope to have the finals
of all competitions in April.

If you have any problems or think that your tyeam will not enter this year
then please let me know ASAP.

Regards
Sam Collins

Relegated teams have to play all their matches at the community centre in grangemouth. Any complaints about the cramped playing conditions, lack of proper air conditioning or excessive noise from dance classes in adjacent rooms will result in having to play there for a further 5 years.

Sam, what is the format of the Spens Cup and when will it start? I am optimisically hopeful I might be able to enter a team this year.
