I don't have a problem with it really.

But if you are going take a pot shot then perhaps you
should add your own name rather than a pseudonym.

Jokes and the gags I like - but the wee sleekit shots. Nah!

But you are right - heaven forbid this site ends up like the ECF.
So we should keep the nameless ones in.
I have been won over.

If you really want site entertainment then nip across to Red Hot Pawn.
It's the best NB I've seen - some of the stuff on it is hilarious.

Type Red Hot Pawn into any search thingy - go to forums - select chess

(I hid there under greenpawn34 with ever intention of staying
quiet and just playing chess)

Follow the thread about 'learning openings' I soon jumped in (could not resist).
You have to read it all - Then suddenly Chandler jumps in.
I called tham all Bozo's.
("I've got a grade over 2000 so you listen to me" - I'm 2001!!)

but I gave away too many clues.

'I was outed ' 'You are Geoff Chandler'.

So I admitted it.
They did not believe me!

They called me a liar, a scumbag, an imposter and a meglomaniac.

I got emails telling me I was on another site - look for myself.

That will teach me to think I can take pot shots behind a pseudonym.

I think we are all friends again.
Amazing what reaction one four lettered word will bring. (Bozo).

Of course the Corner has a new article this weekend.

Congratulations, Geoff! You have discovered blitz on the net! When i read your very instructive & humourous files, i thought it was sad that you didn't approve of live games on the net. When i started playing chess there, i thought that it was great. I also thought that it would kill club & weekend congresses - why bother to go out, when you can play at home?
Since then I've met many [& learned lessons from some] people who got experience on the net, then wanted to try their luck in 'real' games! so, it actually helps otb chess!

redhotpawn is a bit cumbersome! you've got to go out of the main bit to blitz games & you don't get a grade for your troubles [which is quite nice, but...]

goto cube.com & you get the same - free games & chat all together in the same place. Its also got a link on the english site. It only started in Dec & has a few non working links, but if you just want to play, it s find.

I have made many contacts there who have 'revealed themselves'

(watch the wits pick that one up)

including GM's & IM's who have welcomed me to 'their' site.

Their NB is as hilarious as it is Instructive.

Can I please add - McNab position has been found.
Cheers eveyone - the Corner came through again
