Alex

Can you confirm the round 1 result between Tate and Mitchell? There appears to be some confusion...

Thanks

Mitchell beat Tate in round 1. Geoff gives the right colours in his report but certainly gives the impression that Alan found the move rather than Martin.

Typical journalist - never let the truth stand in the way of a good story!!

To add to the results of Geoff's nine player event Mitchell has 2 and Tate .5

So it is wrong on Quality Chess blog as well then. I must admit I was skeptical that Martin had played 1.e4 Wink

Hi.

I'm looking at the score sheet now handed in by Alan Tate who stopped
recording after 49 moves. It clearly shows Mitchell (white) 0 Tate(Black) 1.

You must have the carbon copy of the Tate score sheet.
Check it you will see I'm correct.

I used Alan's sheet 'cos Mitchell's hand writing is a scrawl.

But if there has been some kind of mix up. ie players not knowing
what colours they are playing then I'll sort it out.

I've made some corrections The Corner. don't blame the QB blog
as they took everything from me and I took it from Alan Tate
who took the score sheet from Alex...

....blame Alex.

Round 4
1 McNab, C 0.5 Mikkelsen, N
2 Mitchell, M 1-0 Thomson, C
3 Berry, N 1-0 Grant, J
4 Eggleston, D 1-0 Tate, A
5 Andersen, M 0-1 Greet, A

These results should be correct. Don't let Geoff off the hook too easily.

If this is a norm tournament, what sort of score will achieve norms?

No doubt you'll post here towards the end of the tournament telling us who is close to getting a norm and what score they need to try and get in the last couple of rounds.

Sorry I did mean to say this.

The FMs require 6.5 (Andersen, Eggleston, Berry, Thomson) and the others 6 (Tate, Grant, Mitchell).

Eggleston actually gained a third norm after entering but needs to raise his rating to 2400.

I know buit I don't have a picture of Martin looking at me and
Martin does not ride a red bike. So it's you. Wink

Anyway it's all sorted out now. Try not to let it happen again.

3 Games from todays round 4.

Dave Eggleston first win v Alan.
AndrewGreet using his Berlin Wall v young Mads and CSM
saccing the exchange to produce the best out of Mitchell.
